Welcome to The FeMOMist Resistance Movement,

the home of my blog “Musings from The FeMOMist”

and other resources in support of “The Resistance”

Just joining “The Resistance” and don’t know what to do next?  Think you’re too busy to join in the fight against neo-fascism?  First things first: read my new blog post “A Progressive Mom’s Guide to ‘The Resistance.'”

I had hoped that the conversation would be very different and right now we would be looking forward to making more progressive gains under the capable leadership of Hillary Clinton and a Democratic majority in the U.S. Senate.  Instead, we find ourselves faced with the prospect of the progress we have made over the past 50 years being stripped away under a Donald Trump administration.  It is time for women and moms to be leaders in ensuring that the world is a more equal, tolerant, and welcoming one for our children, grandchildren, and beyond.  My new hope is that my readers will be inspired to take up this cause themselves, and we will form coalition of women/moms across this country who are pitching in any way they can, becoming FeMOMists in their own right.  We moms can lead by example:  showing the country and the world that we will not tolerate bigotry in any form:  sexism, misogyny, racism, homophobia, islamophobia, anti-Semitism, xenophobia.  We will show that, whatever our differences, we share in common a love for our children, our country, and our planet.  We will show that it is a maternal instinct to lift up among us those who are downtrodden and marginalized, even as we defend our right to equal rights for ALL, including women of every color, religion, ethnicity, sexual orientation, and gender identity.

Join me in resisting the forces that seek to turn back the hands of time!
